Signs You Have Bed Bugs
Not every insect on your bed will be a bed bug, but there are some signs you may have an infestation. Here are two tell-tale signs.
● Bite marks
Bed bugs bite, which may be the earliest sign you have an infestation. If you notice clusters of red bite marks on your arms or legs, you should immediately inspect your bed coverings, mattress, and box spring.
● Size and color
If the tiny bugs you spot on or near your bed are brown and flat, you may have bed bugs. If you notice they change shape after biting you/sucking your blood, they are likely bed bugs. Baby bed bugs will be smaller and white.
If you believe you have bed bugs, the first thing you should do is remove your comforters, sheets, covers, and any other bedding. Then, call Skymark Pest Control.

Treatment Options for Bed Bug Extermination
Our priority with all of our treatments is to kill bed bugs and eliminate any infested area or areas of a home or commercial property. Here are some of our treatment options and preventative recommendations:
- Freeze Treatments
Bed bugs also cannot live through extreme cold, so we also use dry ice to freeze bed bugs. The only downside is these treatments will not make their way through softer fabrics.
- Chemical Treatments
Slower but very effective chemical treatments can also eradicate bed bugs. We target cracks and crevices with insecticides first since these are areas where bed bugs like to hide. Then we use additional solutions to kill any lingering bugs or eggs.
- Fumigation Treatments
If you have a small bed bug infestation confined to one room, you will not need fumigation treatments. These treatments are reserved for major bed bug infestations, such as an entire house, apartment complex, or hotel rooms. If we recommend fumigation treatments for you, the good news is they also treat termites so that you can kill two birds with one stone.
