The preserve has a number of hiking trails, including one that goes around the sinkhole lake and one that climbs up the ravine. There are also several loops that branch off of the main trails. Hidden Waters Preserve is a 90-acre property in central Florida. It was once a trash dump. However, the Lake County Water Authority purchased the property in 1996 and began a restoration process. Since then, staff have been adding native plants and removing invasive species. Previously, Hidden Waters Preserve was a part of Lake County Country Club, which opened on Jan. 24, 1922.
