Located on the Georges River at Connells Point, Donnelly Park wraps around Connells Bay and features a jetty and boat ramp. It is the home of the Connells Point Sailing Club and the 1st Kyle Bay Sea Scouts. It is also one of the most popular sports parks in Horowhenua and has a variety of sports and events. If you’re in town for the holidays, Donnelly Park is an excellent place to visit. Located near the intersection of Donnelly Street and 5th Avenue, it is the perfect backdrop for holiday festivities. In the fall, the area will be filled with beautiful trees and decorated lights and is the site of Mount Dora’s famous tree lighting each December.
A unique cultural attraction in Donnelly Park is the Gillespie Museum of Minerals, which showcases an outstanding collection of minerals. The museum also features an exhibit on plate tectonics and a variety of precious stones. Another great place to spend an afternoon or evening is the Village Coffee Pot, which is located on North Donnelly Street. The Village Coffee Pot serves a variety of coffee and other beverages. The park’s location is another highlight. It overlooks the Sierra Nevada Mountains and features six acres of landscaped grounds. It also includes the Park Farm, a historic ranch house, and numerous benches where visitors can sit and enjoy a scenic view. In addition to being a popular outdoor venue, the park is also home to a beautiful historic ranch house and the Reno Food System’s Park Farm.
The 18th hole is a par four with a bunker on the left and homes on the right. Pine trees line the narrow fairways. Water hazards are present on 15 holes. The green is large and undulating. The 18th hole is the signature hole of the course. A 339-yard par four, the hole is surrounded by trees and overlooks the clubhouse.
In addition to the festival, there are also some activities aimed at children. The Kids Art Tent, located in the tennis courts, will offer hands-on art activities and a puppet show. The suggested donation for this is $1 per person. There will also be an Art Bar, which will serve as a fundraiser for the Arts Center. If you have cash on hand, it would be a great place to spend it.
